A Shameless Book Plug

Cherry BlossomsI just wanted to announce the release of a new, children’s chapter book by world-renowned author, Stephen F. Kaufman, who is usually busy writing deep, philosophical works or teaching martial arts skills. This is his very first children’s book: Cherry Blossoms for Children – Life Lessons to Grow By.

With that being said, I have to shamelessly plug myself, as well, for I supplied the book cover image. In fact, I assisted with the editing and advised the author how to tone down his usual, heavy language and big words so that little people would be able to understand and enjoy the stories in a way that would light up their eyes. Let me give a little background info on the book.

The setting of the stories takes place in ancient Japan. There are 32 chapters in all, and each story concludes with a little moral. The main characters are a wise man, Mokubei (pronounced Mo-Coo-bay), his young friend, Tomo-san, and his dog, Kidu. The stories are geared toward elementary school age children with good reading skills, but can also be enjoyed by having them read aloud by parents and guardians. In fact, what is interesting about this chapter book is that some of the stories are geared toward the very young and some are geared toward slightly older children. I perceive the book as being a great, all-around story telling book for children of all ages. All of the little morals that follow each story are life lessons for all of us to grow by.
