It’s been a strange July around here this summer … if that’s what you want to call it. Temperatures have been below normal, along with cloudy and sometimes rainy skies. It’s been more like “June gloom” than anything else. Today is nice and sunny, and I went for a walk in Point Defiance Park and admired the flower gardens. What a pleasure it is to see such an abundance of seasonal blooms and color! I wasn’t the only one admiring the flowers. The gardens were full of visitors, some first time, and many from out of town. The 760-acre park is a must stop for tourists visiting Tacoma for the first time. Here’s a sample of what one can view right now in the flower gardens.
As well, the Rose Garden is in full bloom and very popular with visitors; the Fuschia Garden is also in bloom, and the Dahlia Garden is just starting to show some blooms. And don’t forget to talk a stroll in the meditative Japanese Garden, which, by the way, is going to get a make-over next year. Our city is blessed to have such a wonderful display of well-manicured gardens!
