Once again, I was inspired to create a photo show of autumn images depicting the awesome, gnarly branches of Japanese Maple trees during the autumn season. Not only is their fiery colored leaves magnificent, but their gnarly branches twisting and turning at all different angles strike me as spectacular as well. They sort of give me the creeps and are a bit spooky this time of year! I hope you enjoy the photo show.

A good adjective for these images! Others that cross my mind are creepy, grotesque, scary, I’m sure that are lots others, depending on one’s frame of mind.
What?! Creepy? Grotesque? Scary?! They look sculptural to me. I do not like Japanese maples much, but they are exemplary specimens, and colorful too. They do not color well here.
Yes, sculptural would be another good adjective to use for describing them. I guess it all has to do with your point of view.
