Japanese Garden Pond Autumn Splendor

Looking for a treasure trove of photographic opportunities during the autumn season? Look no further than your local, Japanese garden! One can spend hours composing photos from every angle and in every nook and cranny in these gardens. They usually have an assortment of different types of Japanese Maples and other shrubs and plants, whose leaves change to brilliant colors of red, yellow, orange, and various shades in-between. Right now, in my regional area, the leaf colors are in their prime time. And what a show they are putting on! I recently visited the Point Defiance Park Japanese Garden, located in Tacoma, Washington. I was mesmerized by the fiery, red color of the garden pond’s Red Japanese Maple tree. In this blog post I will include only the photos I took from this specific area of the garden. I will include photo images from the other areas of the garden in a future post. Enjoy the colors!

  1. These are exquisite pictures. You are truly gifted.

  2. Beautiful reds. The ducks look quite at ease.

Thank you!
